Hey yal!

I got some teeea today fa showwwwww.

July has some good energy for us because it started off at the beginning of a new month, a new week, and a new quarter at the same damn time in my Future voice.

But I have to tell yal the craziest shit that happened to me last month..….

Ya girl accidentally went viral.

So what had happened was.

For the last two years, I’ve wanted to break down celebrity marketing and just marketing in general that I see on a national level because that’s just the marketing nerd in me. But my goofy ass would never create the content because I didn’t think it would perform or no one would care to consume that type of content so I just sat on the idea for years.

Boom outta nowhere this girl GirlBosstown started making similar content to what my idea was on tiktok and blew tf up.

Whewwww chile. I was so mad at myself that I didn’t start. But that’s the thing with ideas when they are ready to be birthed if not through you then someone else will birth it.

So I got irritated with myself because I KNOW BETTER.

and yet I STILL didn’t make the content.

I just kept hoarding ideas in my phone.

By this time content was becoming harder and harder for me to make because it wasn’t the shit I wanted to make. I was just posting shit to stay in the algorithm. I was still creating great strategic content for clients but for myself, I was just like mehhhh.

Then last month, I was at Target and I peeped that Gary Vee’s new book finally came out.

Now mind you, anyone who knows me, knows how much I look up to and admire Gary Vee. I tell anyone who will listen that I’m tryna be the Puerto Rican Gary Vee one day 😂.

But in my head I’m like: “ Girl hooowww you gonna do that when you not even posting as much as he does”

At this point it was heavy on my brain that I needed to resolve this internal beef I was having with myself about my content because ultimately it affects my lead generation for new clients for the agency.

And boom, here was his newest book serving as the nudge I needed.

So I buy the book and instantly run home to read it.

YAL. MF’N Game changer.

It’s not that I learned shit I didn’t already know, it was the in-depth context he took the time to articulate and his frameworks that made it just amazing. I’m ecstatic this was the first Gary Vee book I’ve read because I watch his content every night before bed.

The biggest takeaway that changed my energy toward content creation was this concept he coined called “ Day Trading Attention”.

Gary Vee writes:

Attention is the game. More specifically, underpriced attention is the opportunity. To understand what that means, think of attention as an asset. ……. Just like certain cities have underpriced real estate, certain advertising platforms have underpriced attention.

A light bulb went off.

It’s about responding to things quickly in real-time when there is attention already there. And when I say respond, I mean respond by way of content. Respond with content with your unique touch and that’s how you begin to day trade attention and build a personal brand.

This is the whole premise behind viral social media trends. But instead of day trading attention by hopping on trends, use the concept of day trading attention to re-think all your content strategies and make content quicker and more of it.

That’s just the reality. To stay ahead you have to learn how to create valuable content faster. There is no time for overthinking in today’s landscape of social media.

So in my head, I’m like” Bet let me be on the lookout for popular brands launching something new or a new campaign and I’ll use that as the catalyst for kicking off this content that I've been procrastinating on

Another thing I want to note, this book helped me take the emotions out of content creation. I was being waaaay too emotional about my content. I have business objectives that I’m trying to meet and social media is the vehicle I use to get them accomplished for FREE.

My objectives are:

  • To make money

  • Build my personal brand

  • Bring value to the people who follow me.

You know the saying…

So once I hopped out the bed and turned my mf swag on, I was ready to just do it.

Boom the same day I finished the book, Rihanna announced Fenty Hair. It was like 1 am and I was like “ Oh cool perfect let me just share my thoughts on what they’re doing."

So this is what I posted on IG & Tik Tok.⤵️

Now here are the results

Now the thing about going viral it only matters if you’re ready to go viral. Here are things I want you to think about in regards to going viral:

  • Do you have an actual offer to sell?———→ Mine is a Marketing Blueprint Session for $247 or becoming a Agency Client.

  • Is your page optimized to convert new followers into dollars?——→ I made sure you know what I do and my CTA is too book a call.

  • Do you have an automated onboarding strategy to make onboarding clients fast and efficient?———————————> I already had my email templates loaded into my gmail account to make responding to inquires fast af. I sell those exact templates over at Feliberty.

  • Can you read your insights to see how to duplicate and recreate similar content?———————> I see that people engaged with the content form so now I’m doubling down on that content style tweaking each post as I go.

Now all I need yal to do is go get the book, find some strategies in there you can do and EXECUTE.

If you want to stay in this game during times like these you MUST learn how to execute fast, unemotionally, and with strategy.

Never again will I overthink content again because the business objectives are so important to me because that’s how I will be able to help and be impactful to others.
